In a few weeks time thousands of librarians from all over the planet will gather together for this year’s big library event: The IFLA World Library and Information Congress 2010, 76th IFLA General Conference and Assembly. It will take place in the Swedish Exhibition and Congress Centre in Gothenburg, Sweden, and the theme chosen for the 2010 Congress is: Libraries driving access to knowledge.
Kista Idea Lab will be there, together with a crew of librarians from Stockholm Public Library who will network, listen, share and report about some key areas of interest: ”Social Media”, ”Accessibility”, ”Facilitating”, ”Marketing”, ”Multitude” and ”Media”
At IFLA 2010 we want to network and share and collect ideas about our new upcoming library project in the multilingual and multitechnological suburb of Kista: Kista Idea City/Lab. We also want to talk about all the other exciting development projects in the Stockholm area, concerning library planning (”Library plan 3.0”), our new Metro libraries and the upcoming digital library development.
If you are attending the conference, please don’t hesitate to come and visit us at our stand at the so called Library Avenue. We’re looking forward to have a conversation with you concerning the library of the future! And we want to talk to you both in person and through social media. Therefore we invite you to join the conversation on Twitter and on Facebook. We also would love to connect to you through location based channels like Gowalla and Foursquare. So, if you use any of these services, please let us know and we’ll add you as a friend! Leave a note here, tweet us on @kistaidealab or send me an e-mail to ake.nygren(at)stockholm.se .
Also:
- Watch out for Tweetups! Everyday we will tweet an invitation to a IFLA Tweetup (an informal group meeting) on a specific theme of interest. There will also be one Spanish Tweetup one evening…
- Watch out also for our Mobile Library Gowalla Trip!
More info on all this will be posted here on the blog and on our Twitter channel. Looking forward to meeting you in Gothenburg!
